As IAM celebrates 30 years of being a constructive religious voice in Africa, we spoke to some of our cherished friends and allies who have partnered with the organisation over the years.
This week, we hear from Chris Weyers, a proponent in the Dutch Reformed Church.
“Congratulations on 30 years of empowering members of our LGBTQ+ -community to live as proud members of our faith communities. My personal thanks to IAM for connecting me to inspiring church leaders who have shown me how an open and accepting congregation looks like. It is because of IAM that I now actively focus on developing programs helping gay men share their (often heartbreaking) journeys of being gay in the church. Through these programs we facilitate a process of reconciling with the church and becoming fully active members once more.
God’s richest blessings on your way forward.
