IAM knows that its vision of having LGBTIQ+ people recognised, celebrated, and fully participating in faith communities in South Africa and in the African region is not something that we can accomplish on our own. To truly make an impact requires developing strong South African, regional, and international partnerships. Our impact is multiplied when we work together with like-minded organisations.
In South Africa, IAM partners with organisations and networks to:
- Build strong coalitions of individuals and leaders in Christian faith communities open to change
- Collaborating with interfaith partners to advance change and open dialogue in the wider faith spaces
- Collaborate with civil society partners that work at the intersections of gender and sexual diversity as it intersects with faith and other forms of transformation that seek justice for diverse bodies
- Reflect theoretically with academic partners on the work that IAM does in praxis and seek to move towards more inclusive academic spaces for students and learners.
