CSE Round Table Engagement

On Friday, 26 April 2024, IAM convened an Education Round Table engagement focusing on the intersectionality of Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) and enabling teaching environments for learners with special needs, in the context of diverse gender and sexual identities.

Learning to see differently – Knowledge Production Incubator with University of KwaZulu-Natal

During April, IAM held our annual workshop with Master students in the Gender, Health, and Religion programme at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. This incubator aims to create a space for critical, embodied reflection around the complexity and intersectionality of gender, sexuality, and religion. The workshop empowers participants to engage creatively with diversity regarding SOGIESC (sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, and sex characteristics).

Pride Month: How can I be an ally in my church?

February marks Pride Month in Cape Town, which offers an opportunity for organisations and churches across the world, to demonstrate allyship to LGBTIQ+ people. Allyship refers to the practice of being in solidarity with those that are marginalised, excluded, or discriminated against.
